As a Manager of Software Engineering within Playback Services, you will lead the Media Security team, which owns critical services for protecting content and enabling secure viewing everywhere. Your team is responsible for end-to-end delivery of advanced Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions, enforcing media rights, and supporting secure offline downloads.
The role combines technical leadership with people development, focusing on building scalable, highly available systems that support millions of users across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies, particularly in functional programming with Scala, while solving complex distributed systems challenges.

Requirements For Mgr Software Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 2+ years in engineering management or technical leadership
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams
- Strong experience designing backend systems at scale
- Solid understanding of functional programming and Scala
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners
- Deep understanding of async programming and concurrency
- Proficiency with modern development tooling
