Walt Disney Imagineering is seeking a Principal Ride Controls Systems Engineer to join their Florida-based Ride Studio. This role involves working in a highly collaborative environment with technical, creative, and park operations teams to deliver control systems for new attractions at Disney theme parks worldwide. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in safety-critical control systems design and implementation, with a focus on ride attractions and motion systems.

As a Principal Engineer, you'll lead teams in developing sophisticated control architectures, implementing safety protocols, and ensuring the reliable operation of complex ride systems. Responsibilities For Principal Ride Controls Systems Engineer (Evergreen)

  • Define technical requirements, design, and implement operator intensive, safety-critical control systems and software
  • Develop safety-critical control architecture, network architecture, and algorithms for ride attractions
  • Design operator interfaces and electrical control panels
  • Perform Installation Validation, I/O Checkout, System Functions Testing
  • Write technical documents and specifications
  • Lead a team of ride control engineers and software engineers
  • Oversee supplier design, engineering, testing, and installation efforts

Requirements For Principal Ride Controls Systems Engineer (Evergreen)

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a controls systems related engineering field
  • 10+ years experience with design, engineering, installation of control systems
  • Experience with safety-related system design and defensive programming
  • Experience with control processors and real-time industrial applications
