Ride Control Systems Engineer Sr

Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is seeking a Senior Ride Control Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. As a core member of the Ride Engineering team, you'll be responsible for creating and implementing control systems for cutting-edge theme park attractions that bring magical experiences to millions of guests worldwide.

In this role, you'll work within WDI's Florida-based Ride Studio, collaborating with diverse teams of technical, creative, and park operations professionals. You'll lead the development of sophisticated ride control systems from concept through commissioning, ensuring both safety and exceptional guest experiences. The position requires expertise in automated control systems, system safety design, and project leadership.

Your responsibilities will include developing technical documentation, managing hazard analyses, directing other engineers, and leading all technical aspects of system architecture. You'll work with both hardware and software components, applying your knowledge of industry standards and functional safety requirements. The role demands someone who can balance creative vision with technical constraints while maintaining Disney's high standards for safety and quality.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of experience in automated control systems, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a strong technical background in electrical or computer engineering. You should be comfortable managing vendor relationships, leading project teams, and working with industry standards like ASTM F2291 and IEC 61508. Experience with Rockwell and Siemens automation systems is highly valued.
