Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more – all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney's media business globally.

As a Senior Apple Engineer at ESPN, you'll play a crucial role in developing ESPN's tvOS applications using Swift. This hands-on position involves collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Mobile/Web/Backend Engineers, and Content Creators to deliver world-class ESPN apps reaching millions of sports fans worldwide.

  • Architectural Design: Help architect and implement reusable solutions shared across Disney apps
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams for seamless feature integration
  • Mentorship: Guide other engineers in solving complex problems and driving technical excellence

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
  • Experience with Apple frameworks including AVFoundation, Security, and StoreKit
  • Knowledge of HTTP/REST services and multi-threaded iOS/tvOS development
  • Understanding of video streaming technologies including HLS and Fairplay DRM

Requirements For Senior Apple Engineer - Swift, SwiftUI & UIKit

  • 5+ years hands-on professional experience with iOS/tvOS development
  • Strong understanding of OO and Swift design patterns and concepts
  • Sound understanding of HTTP and REST-style web services
  • Experience with Apple frameworks (UIKit, AVFoundation, Security, StoreKit)
  • BS Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience building video-based applications (preferred)
  • Knowledge of HLS protocol and Fairplay DRM (preferred)
