As a Senior Controls Engineer at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA, you will play a crucial role in creating magical experiences for millions of guests. This position combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing on the design and implementation of complex ride control systems that ensure both guest safety and entertainment excellence.

Your responsibilities will span the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept through implementation and maintenance. You'll lead the development of PLC software and hardware designs, conduct critical safety analyses, and mentor junior engineers. This role requires a unique blend of technical knowledge, leadership skills, and creative problem-solving ability.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading complex control system projects from conception to completion
  • Developing and reviewing safety-critical PLC software and hardware designs
  • Conducting thorough hazard analyses and root cause investigations
  • Mentoring and guiding technical teams during testing and commissioning
  • Collaborating across departments to define technical direction
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Managing multiple projects while monitoring scope, schedule, and budget

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of industrial control systems experience, demonstrated leadership abilities, and deep knowledge of safety PLCs and fail-safe design principles. Experience in theme park environments or similar high-reliability settings is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required, with a Master's degree or MBA preferred.

Disney offers a comprehensive benefits package including health and savings benefits, educational opportunities, and unique Disney perks. The base salary range for this position is $126,100 to $154,100 per year, with additional bonus potential and long-term incentives available.

Responsibilities For Senior Controls Engineer

  • Lead the full lifecycle of control system projects: scope, design, installation, testing, and training
  • Develop and review Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) software and hardware designs
