As a Senior Media Systems Engineer at Disney, you will be responsible for transforming the capability and flexibility of how Disney acquires, produces, and distributes content worldwide. You will be working at the intersection of hardware and software-based technology, requiring a comprehensive understanding of technology that powers the generation, monetization, and distribution of all forms of consumer-facing linear and digital video/audio content.

The role involves working with numerous systems including Playout Technology, Studios, Production Control Rooms, Remote Production, Post-Production, Contribution/Distribution Systems, Networking, Cloud Compute, Production Software and Virtual Environments. You will be part of a tiered sustainment model where incidents are escalated from shared operations teams, requiring expert-level troubleshooting skills across media software, networking, and hardware.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $120,300 to $161,300 per year, along with comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, bonus potential, and long-term incentive units. Responsibilities For Senior Media Systems Engineer

  • Respond to and resolve issues affecting acquisition, production, and content distribution
  • Utilize system health and performance monitoring software
  • Analyze and troubleshoot streaming audio/video signals
  • Perform preventative maintenance on broadcast systems
  • Support third-party service providers
  • Lead operational support of audio and video production systems
  • Support long range planning for future media technology needs
  • Lead the development of policies and procedures

Requirements For Senior Media Systems Engineer

Linux
  • 5 years of previous and relevant experience in media engineering and live media production
  • Expert level knowledge of broadcast control room equipment
  • Proficient in SMPTE standards for broadcast television
  • Advanced knowledge of compression techniques
  • Expert knowledge of Evertz software control systems
  • Advanced knowledge of major media systems
  • Ability to create and interpret AutoCad
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
