Job Description

Disney Experiences is seeking a motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join their Payments and Accounting Technology team. This role is crucial in advancing the payments and accounting ecosystem to meet the growing business needs of the Parks Commercial Platforms. The position offers opportunities to contribute to impactful initiatives while growing technical expertise in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver with a passion for building high-quality products and addressing technical challenges. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing the Payment Technologies platform through system upgrades, reliability improvements, and the implementation of new features to meet evolving business demands.

As part of Disney Experiences, you'll be joining a team that brings the magic of Disney stories and franchises to life through theme parks, resorts, cruise ships, unique vacation experiences, and more around the world. Disney shines in the travel industry with six resort destinations in the United States, Europe, and Asia, along with various other entertainment ventures.

The role involves working with modern technologies including Java 11+, AWS services, and various frontend frameworks. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining APIs, developing cloud-enabled solutions, and ensuring high-quality code delivery through proper testing and peer reviews. The position requires strong technical skills, particularly in backend development, along with the ability to work effectively in an Agile environment.

This position is based in Orlando, Florida, and reports to the Manager of Technology. Please note that this role is not open to sponsorship of any kind at this time (i.e., OPT, H1B, TN). The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of related work experience and a strong educational background in Computer Science or related fields.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer II

  • Build and maintain APIs and services for internal and external-facing applications
  • Develop and support applications using cloud-enabled solutions (AWS)
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code with test coverages
  • Participate in peer code reviews and collaboration to uphold coding standards
  • Implement front-end features in coordination with backend systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
  • Support and troubleshoot existing systems to maintain uptime, production releases, and issue resolutions

  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience in software development
  • Experience with backend development using Java 11+ and Object-Oriented Design principles
  • Proficiency in frontend technologies, including Angular, React, and Node.js
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and Aurora DB
  • Understanding of building Microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical solutions
  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering
