This Senior Principal Software Engineer position is an executive and architectural role within the Media Engineering Ecosystem Architecture team. The role is responsible for leading multi-pillar, multi-disciplinary large scale, strategic and complex company initiatives that intersect with the Media Platform domain which powers content and media metadata for all Disney direct-to-consumer experiences and advertising systems.
As a Senior Principal Engineer, you'll be working on:
- Leading the design and implementation of Disney's Media Platform

Responsibilities For Sr Principal Software Engineer
- Lead the design and roadmap for the Media Platform including acquisition, processing, storage, and distribution
- Partner with development, product, program, operations, architecture teams in matrix structure
- Be an ambassador from Media Engineering to teams across Disney
- Work with product, engineering, and leadership groups to foster innovation
- Provide guidance and mentor technical and business teams
- Follow incidents and partner with teams to derive insights
- Engage in industry level conversations around technology standards
Requirements For Sr Principal Software Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree in technical field or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of experience in software development
- Skills collaborating with multiple distributed teams
- Experience designing and testing services for data ingestion
- Experience building high scale distribution systems
- Experience building multi-tenant systems
- Experience with video player stack implementation
- Experience with industry media standards
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Clear communication and collaborative teamwork skills
