This Systems Engineer position is with the Modeling, Simulation, and Training Tools (MST) team within Global Engineering & Technology, based in Glendale, CA. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge simulation and analysis services for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) and other Disney partners.
The MST team provides detailed engineering simulation and analysis services internationally, working on systems-level simulations of rides and attractions, Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) or Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) platforms, multi-agent simulations, training simulations, and large-scale transportation simulations. The team also develops in-house engineering software tools, performs statistical analyses, and creates dynamic robotic electro-mechanical and controls system simulations.
As a Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading and developing desktop applications and software APIs used by internal engineering and creative partners. You'll work closely with Walt Disney Imagineering Creative, WDI Ride, and Industrial Engineering teams to identify requirements and use cases for attraction simulation development. The role requires strong programming skills, particularly in C++, and familiarity with software development best practices including Agile methodologies and continuous integration.
The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $104,600 to $127,800 per year, plus potential bonuses and long-term incentives. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience in the entertainment or engineering industries, strong object-oriented programming skills, and excellent communication abilities. Experience with simulation software, game engines like Unity3D or Unreal, and understanding of ride and show control systems would be valuable assets.
