We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our AVS (Actively Validated Services) team as we scale up to hyperscale Ethereum. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge blockchain technology and contribute to innovative crypto projects.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll leverage your distributed systems expertise to design and develop backend systems, services, and tooling for AVS projects. You'll be at the forefront of creating technologies that power the world's most innovative crypto initiatives. Your responsibilities will include constant research and learning of new concepts, proactive contribution to technical discussions, and engagement in agile development processes.
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of backend distributed systems experience, with at least 2 years of full life cycle development in Go, Rust, or C++. You should have a strong background in developing applications for microservices deployment, experience with highly scalable and fault-tolerant P2P networks, and exposure to cloud technologies. A general understanding of blockchain technology and concepts is essential.
This remote position offers a competitive salary range of $225,000 - $250,000, along with attractive benefits including employer-covered medical, dental, and vision plans, 401k, unlimited PTO, and 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave. Responsibilities For Senior Backend Engineer (AVS)
- Leverage your skills and knowledge of distributed systems to create technologies that power the world's most innovative crypto projects
- Design and develop backend systems, services and tooling used by developer/builder communities for the creation and management of AVS projects
- Constantly research/learn new concepts, ideas, and frameworks
- Proactively contribute to discussions about technical issues, sprint and roadmap planning, and improving team processes
- Engage in the team design/code reviews, standups, and agile development processes
Requirements For Senior Backend Engineer (AVS)
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field (e.g., physics or mathematics)
- 5+ years of backend distributed systems experience
- 2+ years of full life cycle development with Go, Rust or C++
- Experience developing applications optimized for deployment and management via microservices
- Highly scalable and fault tolerant P2P networks in a production setting
- Exposure to cloud technologies (managing keys, observability, monitoring)
- General understanding of blockchain tech and concepts; signature schemes, hash functions, erasure codes, multi-threaded and parallel computing, etc.
