ElevenLabs, a rapidly growing startup valued at $1.1B, is seeking an experienced AI Safety Engineer to lead safety engineering efforts. This role involves designing and implementing systems to detect and prevent abuse, promote user safety, and reduce risk across the platform. Key responsibilities include architecting anti-abuse infrastructure, adopting AI methods for content moderation, implementing ML models, collaborating on safety mitigations, expanding internal safety tooling, and developing provenance solutions. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python skills, and experience in trust and safety or AI safety. Responsibilities For AI Safety Engineer
- Architect, build, and maintain anti-abuse and content moderation infrastructure
- Lead adoption of latest gen AI methods to automate abuse monitoring and content moderation workflows
- Design, implement and iterate ML models to improve detection and enforcement capabilities
- Collaborate with engineering team to design and build safety mitigations across product suite
- Expand internal safety tooling and infrastructure
- Implement provenance solutions
- Collaborate with data team to develop and maintain actionable safety metrics
Requirements For AI Safety Engineer
- 6+ years in progressively senior software engineering roles
- Experience in trust and safety, integrity or AI safety teams
- Strong experience in Python, including asynchronous Python
- Experience building production Python applications
- Experience with building backend safety infrastructure & tooling
- Experience designing, implementing, and iterating on ML/AI models
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Pytorch
- Experience with SQL and data analysis tools
