Job Description
Eli Lilly is seeking an AWS Platform Engineer to join their Cloud and Connectivity organization, focusing on unlocking the power of AWS Platform Operations through AI & Automation. This role offers an opportunity to impact global public and private cloud infrastructure operations through innovative solutions.
The position involves working with various AWS services, including Amazon RDS PaaS and serverless technologies. The primary responsibilities include qualifying new AWS Services, maintaining platforms, and creating CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments. The engineer will work closely with Lilly SMEs, Cloud Infrastructure team, and Self-service enabling team to implement enhancements and automation.
Key focus areas include:
- Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Developing Infrastructure as Code solutions
- Managing and securing cloud environments
- Implementing monitoring and observability solutions
- Automating routine operations
- Ensuring compliance with security standards
- Providing operational support and troubleshooting

Responsibilities For AWS Platform Engineer - Enterprise Data Platform
- Design and implement CI/CD Pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation Templates or Terraform
- Manage Git repositories and enforce security practices
- Set up AWS CloudWatch Monitoring and logs insights
- Implement security and identity management using AWS Identity Centre
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts
- Provide L2/L3 operational support for cloud environments
- Document system architectures and procedures
- Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure
Requirements For AWS Platform Engineer - Enterprise Data Platform
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or MCA
- 3+ years of experience in AWS cloud infrastructure and database administration
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, Neptune, Lambda, etc.)
- Strong scripting skills in Python
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions
- Proficiency in SQL and database administration
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation
- Experience with PowerShell, AWS CLI, YAML/JSON
- Willingness to work flexible hours including non-standard shifts
