EMW, Inc. is seeking a Wireless Communications Engineer to join their team in Braine-L'Alleud, Belgium. This role is a contract position requiring NATO SECRET clearance and focuses on military communication systems and technologies. The position involves working with cutting-edge wireless communications technologies, including VLF, HF, VHF, and UHF bands, as well as mobile telecommunications systems.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in radio communications, with a strong background in electrical, electronics, or telecommunications engineering. They will be responsible for providing technical expertise in acquisition projects, developing technical specifications, and ensuring the delivery of integrated communications solutions.

This role offers an opportunity to work on significant military and defense projects, contributing to the development of STANAGs, prototyping, and test bed applications. The position requires a combination of technical expertise and strong communication skills, as the engineer will interact with military, civilian, and industrial organizations.

Key technical areas include modern digital communication techniques, IP networks, wireless networking standards, and security protocols. The role involves both theoretical knowledge and practical implementation, with opportunities to work on field trials and laboratory testing.

  • Provide technical support to acquisition projects
  • Prepare technical specifications and ensure technical expertise throughout implementation
  • Participate in scientific programs and projects
  • Contribute to projects in Mobile Infrastructure, SATCOM, and Wireless Communications
  • Maintain documentation and Solution Architectures for NATO Capabilities
  • Plan, prepare and host formal and informal visits and meetings
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in wireless communications systems
  • Deputize for higher grade staff when required

Linux
  • Active NATO SECRET security clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering
  • Knowledge of modern digital communication techniques, protocols and standards
  • Experience in communication networks specification, design and testing, including IP networks
  • Knowledge of modern wireless networking techniques and standards
  • Experience in writing, analyzing and commenting on technical documents
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to understand operational requirements and translate them into technical requirements
