Extreme Networks, a recognized Technology Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant, is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer – Monitoring Lead to join their growing Cloud Operations team in Thornhill, Toronto. This is a hybrid role offering a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $140,000 annually.

The position requires an experienced professional with 8+ years in Cloud Operations, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering, who will take charge of designing and implementing comprehensive monitoring and alerting strategies across cloud infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and extensive experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Splunk.

Key responsibilities include leading the monitoring framework implementation, defining KPIs and SLOs, developing automation scripts, and maintaining dashboards for system performance insights. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and RabbitMQ, while collaborating with engineering teams to drive performance improvements and cost optimization.

Responsibilities For Cloud Operations Engineer – Monitoring Lead

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of end-to-end monitoring and alerting framework for cloud infrastructure
  • Define KPIs, SLIs, and SLOs for critical systems
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate monitoring tools
  • Develop and implement automation scripts and tools
  • Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports
  • Analyze monitoring data to identify performance bottlenecks
  • Collaborate with engineering teams for performance improvements
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Provide 24*7 support for Cloud services
  • Participate in cloud security and compliance implementation

Requirements For Cloud Operations Engineer – Monitoring Lead

  • Knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment
