PRINCIPAL SW SYSTEMS ENGINEER 9850- CloudOps/DevOps- Linux-Kubernetes-AWS/Azure

Extreme Networks is seeking a Principal Software Systems Engineer to join their Cloud Operations team, focusing on building and managing scalable cloud-based solutions. This role requires 13+ years of experience in CloudOps/DevOps and combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering work.

The position involves designing and optimizing cloud test bed environments across major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for both functional and performance testing. You'll be responsible for ensuring that cloud environments accurately simulate production conditions while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role requires expertise in infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and automation tools.

As a Principal Engineer, you'll collaborate with Development and QA teams to define testing requirements and implement comprehensive monitoring solutions. You'll be instrumental in troubleshooting complex issues and optimizing cloud infrastructure for performance testing. The role demands strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and cloud security fundamentals.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and proficiency with automation tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and ArgoCD. Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, and Prometheus is essential. You'll be working with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones, requiring excellent communication skills.
