Frontend Engineer

Fern is revolutionizing how companies deliver SDKs and API documentation. Founded in 2022 and backed by YCombinator, we're a team of fewer than 20 people working together in Brooklyn, NY. Our mission is to enable every engineering team to offer easy-to-use and well-documented APIs, inspired by internal tooling from AWS and Palantir.

As our Frontend Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our developer experience and product infrastructure. You'll be working on streamlining our monorepo, reducing build times, and accelerating deployment processes. Key responsibilities include implementing Storybook, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and building user-facing features like WYSIWYG editors and changelog tracking systems.

This role is perfect for ambitious engineers with entrepreneurial aspirations. Many team members are former or future founders, making this an excellent opportunity to scale a company from $1M to $10M ARR while collaborating with fast-growing tech companies. We value in-person collaboration in our Williamsburg office.

Our tech stack includes Next.js + Vercel for frontend, Claude + Bedrock for LLM, Express (Node.js) and FastAPI (Python) for microservices, and AWS for cloud infrastructure. We're looking for someone with strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React, plus experience collaborating with product designers.
