Job Description

GE Aerospace is seeking an experienced CAD developer to join their MBE/PLM team to help develop new capabilities that will transform how they design and build next-generation aircraft engines. This role is critical in developing and maintaining custom applications using NX-Open APIs and various programming languages to enable a Model Based Enterprise and create a true Digital Thread flow of information.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexibility to work on-site either in Evendale, OH or Detroit, MI for 3 days per week. The role combines software development expertise with CAD system knowledge, requiring strong programming skills in multiple languages including C++, C#, and Python, along with specific expertise in NX-Open APIs and CAD development.

As a CAD Developer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing custom applications that enhance GE Aerospace's engineering capabilities. You'll work with complex systems, debug production issues, and ensure the smooth integration of various technical solutions. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and maintaining technical documentation.

Responsibilities For NX/CAD Developer

  • Evaluate requests for enhancements and determine potential impacts with current system design/configuration
  • Code complex/integrated customizations and solutions
  • Provide support and maintenance of existing customizations and application functionality
  • Triage/debug production issues (Data, Code, Performance, Security, etc.)
  • Develop new and enhance existing applications
  • Document technical design and system changes
  • Review technical designs to ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Mentor junior engineers

Requirements For NX/CAD Developer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years experience OR Associates degree with 7 years experience OR High School Diploma with 9 years experience
  • Experience with UFUNC and NX-Open APIs for CAD applications development
  • Knowledge of .NET & MFC
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ & C#
  • Good knowledge of NX
  • Experience with scripting languages (CGI, Perl, Python)
  • Experience with IDE (Visual Studio, Eclipse)
  • Knowledge of Model Based Enterprise and Manufacturing concepts
  • Understanding of Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and test-driven development
