GE Vernova is seeking a Staff Electricity Market Optimization Software Engineer to join their team developing and maintaining large-scale Electricity Market Management Systems (MMS). This role combines advanced software engineering with power systems expertise, working in a team of 8-15 professionals including power systems, database, software, and optimization engineers.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical infrastructure that serves Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Transmission System Operators (TSOs). You'll be responsible for leading software design, development, and optimization efforts while mentoring junior team members and working directly with customers to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions.

This is an ideal role for someone with deep technical expertise in both software engineering and power systems, offering a competitive salary range of $125,600 - $188,400 USD plus performance bonuses.   • Define, develop, and evolve software in a fast-paced agile environment

Requirements For Staff Electricity Market Optimization Software Engineer

Java
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus or STEM major
  • 6-10 years experience in Power Systems Analysis or Security Constrained Unit Commitment
  • Strong understanding of Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP)
  • Experience with testing and test automation
  • Strong knowledge of source control management and GitHub
  • Willing to travel 10-20% of the time
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must be willing to work from Bellevue, WA office if needed
