Job Description

General Motors is revolutionizing the automotive industry with a focus on software-defined vehicles and commercial fleet solutions. This Senior SRE position is part of GM's ambitious journey to pioneer next-generation software solutions for commercial fleet owners and drivers. Based in Sunnyvale, CA, this role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of automotive technology and cloud infrastructure.

The role involves developing and maintaining key elements of infrastructure health and reliability monitoring for GM's commercial fleet. As an SRE Engineer, you'll be responsible for implementing scalable observability platforms, ensuring system reliability, and maintaining high availability of production systems. The position requires expertise in cloud technologies (particularly Azure), monitoring tools like Datadog, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

GM's vision of Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion drives their technology initiatives. The company leverages its unique position as an OEM to deliver seamless solutions including fleet management, energy optimization, transportation logistics, and safety systems. This role offers the opportunity to impact these initiatives directly through reliable infrastructure and monitoring solutions.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $152,100 to $232,900 annually for the California Bay Area, along with comprehensive benefits. The role is hybrid, requiring presence in the Sunnyvale office three times per week, though remote work might be considered for exceptional candidates.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SRE professional who wants to combine their technical expertise with the scale and impact of a global automotive leader.
