Job Description

General Motors is seeking a Staff ML Engineer to join their ML Compute Platform team within the AI Compute Platform organization. This role focuses on building and scaling robust compute platforms for ML workflows, supporting GM's ambitious AI initiatives including autonomous vehicles (L3/L4/L5) development.

The ML Compute Platform serves as the backbone of GM's AI infrastructure, providing a cloud-agnostic, reliable, and cost-efficient compute backend. The platform is designed to optimize high-priority ML use cases, supporting the training and deployment of state-of-the-art machine learning models while maximizing GPU utilization across various platforms (B200, H100, A100).

As a Staff ML Engineer, you'll work closely with ML engineers and researchers to ensure efficient model training and seamless production deployment. You'll play a crucial role in shaping the user-facing experience of the platform, focusing on job discovery, scheduling, and debugging capabilities. The position requires expertise in distributed systems for ML, strong problem-solving abilities, and a product mindset centered on platform usability and reliability.
