Job Description

Google Cloud Platform is seeking a Cloud Architect to join their team in Canberra, focusing on infrastructure and private cloud solutions for government clients. This is a fixed-term contract position that requires extensive experience in solution architecture and government security frameworks.

The role involves leading the architectural design for a secure, resilient, and high-performance private cloud environment using Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped solutions. The ideal candidate will serve as the principal design authority, translating complex government agency requirements and security mandates into scalable cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities include developing end-to-end architectural designs, from high-level concepts to detailed specifications, ensuring alignment with government security standards such as ISM, PSPF, and Essential Eight. The role requires strong technical expertise in private cloud technologies, system architecture, and coding (particularly Python), combined with excellent stakeholder management skills.

The position demands 7+ years of solution engineering experience, strong understanding of government security frameworks, and the ability to maintain high-level security clearance (NV2). The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge cloud technology while ensuring compliance with stringent government requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced architect looking to work on challenging government projects while being part of Google Cloud's innovative team.
