Join Google's Technical Infrastructure team as a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer, where you'll be instrumental in supporting Google's packaging and electro-mechanical products. This role combines manufacturing expertise with strategic partnership, working closely with Product Development teams to identify and qualify advanced manufacturing techniques while providing Design for Excellence (DFX) feedback. You'll be part of the team that builds and maintains Google's data centers and platforms, ensuring optimal performance and user experience. Responsibilities For Engineer, Mechanical Manufacturing
- Plan rack integration line development and qualification at agreement manufacturing partners
- Design for Manufacturability or Assembly and design for cost analysis
- Identify and qualify agreement manufacturers for precision sheet metal, high-volume metal stamping, plastic injection molding, tooling, and level 3 electro-mechanical assemblies
- Provide comprehensive mechanical manufacturing engineering support to global manufacturing partners
- Use product data management system to create and maintain bills of materials, approved vendor lists, and engineering change notifications
Requirements For Engineer, Mechanical Manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in metal stamping including tool design and construction, debug, cost, and qualification processes
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
- Experience with product data management systems and 3D CAD modeling tools
- Understanding of precision sheet metal fabrication processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
