Engineering Director, AI, HR Engineering

Google is seeking an Engineering Director to lead their AI Accelerator for HR Function team in Hyderabad. This is a foundational leadership role within Google's Corp Eng organization, which builds world-leading business solutions that scale Google's operations.

The position requires an experienced technical leader to oversee the development and deployment of AI/ML solutions that will revolutionize Google's HR operations. The role combines deep technical expertise in artificial intelligence with strategic leadership, as you'll be responsible for building and scaling a team of AI/ML engineers and Product Managers.

The HR Engineering team's mission is to build people and culture solutions that support the entire lifecycle of a Googler's career. As the Engineering Director, you'll define the technical vision for AI applications in HR, stay current with emerging technologies, and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure solutions.

Key responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring top AI talent, overseeing the complete development lifecycle of AI products, and working closely with product managers and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs. You'll need to bring both technical depth in AI/ML and strong leadership skills to build and grow a high-performing engineering organization.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years managing large engineering teams of 40+ people. Deep expertise in machine learning, including areas like NLP, computer vision, and predictive analytics, is essential. Experience with MLOps, data engineering, and cloud platforms will be valuable in building robust AI solutions at scale.
