Job Description

Google's UK Sovereign Operations team is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join their Public Sector division. This role focuses on deploying and operating private cloud services for critical UK customers. The position combines hands-on technical work with infrastructure deployment, problem-solving, and incident management. Responsibilities For Infrastructure Operations Engineer, Sovereign Operations

  • Build, configure and deploy new compute, network, storage and specialist security infrastructure
  • Resolve profile escalations and issues, improve customer experience
  • Manage health and performance of the environment using observability tools
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response
  • Provide technical implementation support in customer environments

Requirements For Infrastructure Operations Engineer, Sovereign Operations

Kubernetes
Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, or platform engineering roles
  • Experience with deployment and orchestration technologies
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration
  • Eligibility to obtain UK Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance; British Citizenship required
