Job Description

Google's Devices & Services team is seeking a Product Architecture Lead for their Pixel devices division, combining the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create innovative user experiences. This role leads the Pixel Advanced Architecture team, responsible for identifying, integrating, and validating new technologies for future generations of Pixel products including phones, foldables, watches, and buds.

The position requires a seasoned professional with 12+ years of consumer electronics experience and 5+ years of engineering team management. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise across multiple disciplines including antennas, cameras, sensors, displays, and batteries, along with the ability to validate new technologies for reliability.

As the Product Architecture Lead, you'll work at the intersection of hardware innovation and product development, managing a team of electrical and product design engineers. Your responsibilities include early definition of new products, technology validation, and partnership with global NPI engineering teams. The role demands both technical depth and leadership skills, as you'll be responsible for communicating with executive leadership and building consensus around future product directions.

  • Balance exploration with plausibility in early definition of future product concepts across Pixel product lines
  • Lead cross-functional teams and communicate updates to leadership

Requirements For Product Architecture Lead, Pixel Devices

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 12 years of experience in product engineering for consumer electronics
  • 5 years of experience managing an engineering team
  • Knowledge of consumer product technologies (PCBA fabrication, plastic injection molding, sheet metal stamping, batteries, displays, camera systems)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present to executive leadership
