Description For Program Manager, Construction Area Environmental Health and Safety

Google is seeking a Program Manager for Construction Area Environmental Health and Safety to join their Data Center team. This role involves leading complex EHS programs across construction projects, working with various stakeholders including contractors, trades, and internal teams. The role holder will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying Environmental Health and Safety programs across a defined area. They will work closely with Google Data Center partners, contractors, and various technical teams to enhance EHS programs and performance. Key responsibilities include conducting vendor evaluations, updating project manuals, and ensuring EHS expectations are met.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in both program management and field safety management, with preferred qualifications including relevant certifications and experience managing multi-site projects. They should be capable of implementing safety management solutions and understanding project management processes.

The position offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $139,000-$207,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. The role is based in Kansas City, MO, and is part of Google's Data Center team, which designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems globally.

Responsibilities For Program Manager, Construction Area Environmental Health and Safety

  • Lead the development and ownership of the EHS program for area construction oversight and data collection
  • Ensure that contractors deliver on program safety performance expectations and agreement requirements, providing solutions to issues
  • Monitor, advise, and assist the construction project teams to protect people, environment, and ensure compliance
  • Drive a culture that embraces a continuous learning approach and aligns with organizational strategies including goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with the Construction EHS team to ensure practices are implemented, progress reported, trends and data captured and analyzed, and risks mitigated

Requirements For Program Manager, Construction Area Environmental Health and Safety

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management
  • 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) on field safety management
  • Experience in implementing programs to manage EHS construction and operational risks
