As a Research Scientist at Google, you'll be part of Google Research, which is building the next generation of intelligent systems for all Google products. You'll setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. Your work will span various areas of computer science, including machine learning, data mining, natural language processing, and more.
You'll actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings, collaborating with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes worldwide. The role involves conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cognitive science and AI/ML, partnering with researchers in machine learning, philosophy, and social sciences to explore cutting-edge societal questions around machine cognition, consciousness, and multi-agent systems.

This role requires a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, experience with interdisciplinary research, and scientific publication submissions. Preferred qualifications include coding experience, experience in owning research agendas, multidisciplinary academic work, publications in venues like CHI, FAccT, and AIES, and experience in software development and machine learning.
