Job Description

Google Public Sector is seeking a Security Engineer to join their team in protecting critical assets and implementing advanced security strategies. This role combines hands-on security engineering with leadership responsibilities in threat detection, incident response, and security system design. The position requires active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and US citizenship due to the sensitive nature of working with government clients.

The role involves developing and implementing comprehensive security solutions, from monitoring strategies to incident response plans. You'll be working with cutting-edge security technologies including SIEM systems and IDS/IPS, while also contributing to security awareness programs. The position offers a competitive salary range of $166,000-$244,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

As a Security Engineer at Google Public Sector, you'll be at the forefront of protecting government and educational institutions' digital assets. You'll need to combine technical expertise in security engineering with the ability to handle classified information and comply with strict government requirements. The role requires someone who can anticipate threats, not just react to them, and who can work effectively in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in security engineering, with expertise in security assessments, threat modeling, and security protocols. Additional certifications like CISSP or CISM are preferred, and experience in regulated industries is valuable. You'll be part of Google's mission to bring innovative solutions to public sector institutions while maintaining the highest security standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who wants to make a significant impact in protecting critical government infrastructure while working for one of the world's leading technology companies.
