Job Description
Google is seeking a Security Engineer III to join their Red Team within the Cloud CISO organization. This role is part of the Product Security Engineering team, responsible for ensuring the security of all Cloud products and infrastructure. The position combines offensive security expertise with cloud technology, requiring candidates to simulate real-world adversaries and evaluate Google Cloud's threat detection and response capabilities.
The role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $141,000 to $202,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Based in New York, this position requires a mix of technical security skills and strategic thinking to help protect one of the world's largest cloud infrastructures.
Key responsibilities include executing security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities in cloud services, conducting threat modeling, and designing realistic attack scenarios. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of security engineering experience, with preferred experience in offensive security and cloud environments.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer III, Red Team, Cloud CISO
- Work with a team to plan and execute attacks against Cloud's products, services, and infrastructure
- Identify vulnerabilities and attack vectors within Cloud services, configurations, and related technologies
- Participate in threat modeling exercises to identify potential attack paths and weaknesses in Cloud architectures and deployments
- Design realistic and relevant attack scenarios based on current threat intelligence and the specific Cloud environment being assessed
- Create reports that capture the insights gained during an attack and present them to a variety of audiences
Requirements For Security Engineer III, Red Team, Cloud CISO
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
- 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
- 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
