Security Engineer Technical Lead, Identity

Google is seeking a Security Engineer Technical Lead for their Identity team, focusing on managing identity risks across Alphabet's ecosystem. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on security engineering, requiring expertise in identity management, authentication systems, and enterprise security. The position involves overseeing how Google implements physical security tokens, badges, trusted platform modules, single sign-on, identity verification, and biometrics across corporate, production, and cloud environments.

The role is part of Google's Core team, which builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. You'll be responsible for protecting network boundaries, hardening systems against attacks, and securing sensitive data. The position requires deep knowledge of security principles with a focus on identity, and experience in representing security concerns in cloud environments.

As a technical lead, you'll work with multiple stakeholders to drive security strategies, influence risk decisions, and align security designs with business objectives. You'll be managing identity risks not just for Google proper, but across various SaaS implementations, Alphabet companies (Bets), and acquisitions. The role involves partnering with hardware development teams, external standards bodies, and major vendors to develop innovative security solutions.

The compensation package includes a competitive base salary range of $197,000-$291,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
