Senior Data Scientist, Search Data Science and Engineering

Google is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their Search Data Science and Engineering team. This role is integral to driving Search product excellence and growth through data-driven insights and analysis. The position combines strategic analysis for investment decisions with hands-on research on operational metrics for Search products.

The role involves working closely with product teams throughout the entire development cycle, from initial headroom analysis and product market fit to experiment analysis and metric trade-off decisions. The successful candidate will help improve user experience and drive growth by leveraging user log analysis, experimentation, and data visualization techniques.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly within the App Growth organization, to develop and execute user acquisition and retention strategies across iOS and Android platforms. The role requires strong analytical skills to work with large datasets and solve complex challenges, plus the ability to communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $156,000 to $229,000 base salary, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Ideal candidates will have at least 8 years of relevant experience (or 5 with a Master's degree) and strong programming skills in languages like Python, R, and SQL.
