Senior Software Engineer, Labs AI

Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Labs AI team, focusing on incubating early-stage efforts in AI and machine learning. This role is part of Labs, a group dedicated to discovering and creating new ways to advance Google's core products through exploration and application of cutting-edge technologies.

The position involves working on next-generation software development agents using Large Language Models (LLMs), with a specific focus on developing Stitch, an AI code agent for creating high-quality user interfaces. You'll be at the forefront of integrating LLM agents into new products and translating research concepts into production-ready AI systems.

The ideal candidate will bring strong software development experience in Python, coupled with expertise in Machine Learning/AI Infrastructure. A background in Large Language Models, including prompt engineering, ML applications, evaluations, and post-training, would be particularly valuable. Experience with autonomous, multi-step AI agents that use LLMs for reasoning, planning, and task execution is highly desired.
