Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer specializing in Code Security to join their team in Bengaluru, India. This role is critical to Google Cloud's mission of accelerating digital transformation for organizations worldwide.
As a Senior Staff Software Engineer in Code Security, you will be at the forefront of developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. Your responsibilities will include building goals for Code Security and Open Source Security, designing and implementing durable infrastructure for testing, building, and protecting open source software, and strategizing with various teams to align on security initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with at least 8 years of experience and deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms. You should have 5 years of experience in design, architecture, and launching software products, as well as in technical leadership roles. Familiarity with working in a matrixed organization on cross-functional projects is essential.

Responsibilities For Senior Staff Software Engineer, Code Security
- Build goal for Code Security and Open Source Security within and outside Google
- Design and build durable infrastructure that enables us to test, build and protect open source software
- Strategize and drive alignment with Cloud CISO team, Google Security team and product teams in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) on Open Source Security as well as code security
- Mentor Software Engineers within and outside of Cloud Security
Requirements For Senior Staff Software Engineer, Code Security
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing/launching software products
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction
- 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects
