Senior Systems Development Engineer, Public Sector

Google Public Sector is seeking a Senior Systems Development Engineer to join their team focused on services and systems at scale. This role combines development expertise with infrastructure management, specifically tailored for United States Government customers.

The position requires a strong background in systems development and Linux architecture, with experience in multiple programming languages including Java, Python, JavaScript, and Go. A key requirement is an active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with Polygraph, indicating the sensitive nature of the work.

As part of the role, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining internal systems and customer portals, supporting services through their entire lifecycle from design to production, and implementing automation to ensure scalability. The position involves direct collaboration with Google Engineering teams to implement key customer requirements and participate in on-call rotations for timely issue resolution.

The role offers a competitive compensation package with a base salary range of $156,000-$229,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. This position is based in Reston, VA, and is part of Google's commitment to advancing digital transformation in the public sector.
