Job Description
Join Google's Technical Infrastructure team as a Silicon Physical Design Engineer working on Google Cloud TPU (Tensor Processing Unit). In this role, you'll be part of a team developing ASICs used to accelerate machine learning computation in Data centers. You'll collaborate with various teams including architecture, verification, power and performance, and physical design to deliver high-quality designs for next-generation data center accelerators.
The position requires expertise in physical design and System on Chip (SoC) development, where you'll be responsible for managing design partitions, optimizing timing and power consumption, and contributing to design methodologies. You'll work on innovative solutions that power Google's direct-to-consumer products and shape the future of hardware experiences.
As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll help build and maintain the architecture that keeps Google's product portfolio running. Responsibilities For Silicon Physical Design Engineer, Google Cloud, TPU
- Take ownership of one or more physical design partitions or top level
- Drive to the closure of timing and power consumption of the design
- Contribute to design methodology, libraries, and code review
- Define the physical design related rule sets for the functional design engineers
Requirements For Silicon Physical Design Engineer, Google Cloud, TPU
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 4 years of experience with physical design
- Experience with System on a Chip (SoC) cycles
- Experience in coding with System Verilog and scripting with TCL (preferred)
- Experience with layout verification and design rules (preferred)
- Experience in VLSI design in SoC (preferred)
- Experience with multiple-cycles of SoC in ASIC design (preferred)
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
