Job Description

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Chrome Web AI Platform team, focusing on advancing AI computing capabilities for billions of users. This role combines machine learning expertise with software development, specifically working on improving on-device AI performance and developing new tools and APIs.

The position requires strong programming skills, particularly in C++, and experience with machine learning infrastructure or distributed systems. Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Chrome, Web AI Platform

  • Work with C++ language in our Chrome and Chromium codebase
  • Improve the on-device performance of Gemini Nano
  • Develop new debugging tools in DevTools to support the Built-In AI APIs
  • Develop new Built-In AI JavaScript APIs and write the API specifications
  • Tune Large Language Model (LLM) to improve model performance

Requirements For Software Engineer, Chrome, Web AI Platform

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with machine learning infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
