Job Description

Google's Core team is at the heart of the company's technical foundation, building and maintaining the essential infrastructure behind Google's flagship products. As a Software Engineer III in the Core team, you'll be working on critical projects that impact billions of users worldwide. The role involves developing next-generation technologies across various domains including distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, and AI.

The position requires strong technical expertise to manage project priorities and deliverables, while designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions. You'll be part of a team that looks across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers, and strengthen existing systems. Responsibilities For Software Engineer III, Core

  • Write product or system development code
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve issues

Requirements For Software Engineer III, Core

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting (preferred)
  • Experience developing accessible technologies (preferred)
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering (preferred)
