Description For Staff UX Researcher

Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: we care deeply about the people who use our products.

As a Staff UX Researcher for Google Cloud, you'll help your team understand user needs, working with stakeholders across functions and levels to have impact at all stages of product development. You'll play a critical role in creating useful, usable, and delightful products. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Creating and executing a UX research strategy
  2. Partnering with Design, Product Management, and Engineering leaders
  3. Understanding and incorporating technical and business requirements
  4. Advocating for research findings to diverse audiences
  5. Providing a user-focused point-of-view in product discussions

You'll conduct primary research such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. The UXR community at Google offers unique opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field (Master's or PhD preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in applied research (10+ years preferred)
  • Experience with various research methods and enterprise/business software research
  • 7+ years of experience working with executive leadership (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in changing organizations (preferred)
