Job Description

Google Cloud Platform is seeking a Strategic Cloud Data Engineer to join their Global Service Delivery team. This role combines technical expertise in database engineering with customer-facing responsibilities. You'll be working directly with customers to design, develop, and manage scalable database solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The position requires strong technical skills in database technologies and cloud computing, along with the ability to understand and translate customer needs into effective solutions.

As a Strategic Cloud Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for data migrations and modernization projects, implementing data governance and security controls, and delivering technical workshops to customers. You'll work with various database technologies including Cloud Spanner, Cloud BigTable, and AlloyDB, while ensuring best practices in database design and operations.

The role offers the opportunity to work with Google's cutting-edge cloud technologies while helping shape the future of how businesses use technology.   • Work with clients to understand their objectives and tests, identify technical gaps, and surface opportunities for solution reuse or innovations
  • Design and implement solutions that meet client needs and are compliant with data and legal policies
  • Understand the nuances of clients within the industry and develop subject matter expertise in trending spaces

Requirements For Strategic Cloud Data Engineer, Global Service Delivery

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience writing code in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java)
  • Experience in solution engineering and in stakeholder management, professional services, or technical consulting
  • Experience with Oracle, MySQL and MongoDB
