Job Description

Google is seeking a Test Engineer to join their Wear Engineering Infrastructure and Operations team. Unlike traditional testing roles, this position focuses on automation and tooling development. The role involves navigating Google's extensive codebase to identify weak spots and design innovative testing approaches. You'll be part of Google's Devices and Services team, which combines AI, Software, and Hardware to create helpful user experiences.

As a Test Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and improving multi-device test automation infrastructures specifically for the Wear Platform. The role requires strong coding skills to build automation frameworks and tools, with a focus on stability and scalability. You'll create feature-rich dashboards to deliver actionable results and work closely with Engineering Productivity and Wear Engineering teams to enhance testing coverage.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in coding and test methodology development, with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Experience with specialized testing such as production testing and system integration testing is highly valued. The role offers an opportunity to impact the quality of Google's growing suite of products and services while working in a complex, matrixed organization.

This position is based in Bucharest, Romania, and requires collaboration across teams to define test strategies and improve testing coverage. The role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking, as you'll be responsible for both developing testing infrastructure and ensuring its effectiveness across devices and applications. Join Google's mission to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful while working on cutting-edge wearable technology.
