Job Description

Google is seeking a Test Engineer to join their Wear Engineering Infrastructure and Operations team. Unlike traditional testing roles, this position focuses on automation and tooling development. The role involves writing scripts to automate testing and creating tools for developers to test their code effectively. You'll work with Google's extensive codebase to identify weak spots and design innovative testing approaches.

The position is part of Google's Devices and Services team, which combines Google's AI, Software, and Hardware expertise to create helpful user experiences. The team is dedicated to advancing computing interaction through various technologies and form factors.

As a Test Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and improving multi-device test automation infrastructures specifically for the Wear Platform. You'll need to ensure these systems can scale across different devices and applications while maintaining stability. A key aspect of the role involves creating informative dashboards that provide actionable insights.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in coding and test methodology development, with a strong background in automation frameworks. While a Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degrees in Computer Science or related fields are preferred. Experience in specialized testing and working in complex organizations would be advantageous.

This role offers the opportunity to impact Google's product quality significantly while working with cutting-edge technology in wearables. You'll collaborate with various engineering teams and contribute to Google's mission of organizing world information and making it universally accessible.
