UX Engineer, Developer Transformation

Google is seeking a UX Engineer to join their Developer Transformation team, focusing on creating industry-leading, AI-enhanced development experiences and platforms. This role sits at the intersection of UX design and frontend development, requiring both technical expertise and design sensibility.

The position involves working within Google's User Experience (UX) team, a multi-disciplinary group comprising UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. The team's primary focus is on developing tools and frameworks that enhance developer productivity across Google's ecosystem.

As a UX Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating prototypes, user journeys, and mockups that bridge the gap between advanced AI/ML technologies and intuitive user experiences. The role requires strong technical skills in frontend development, combined with an understanding of UX design principles and the software development process.

The Core team, where this position is housed, builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, working on underlying design elements, developer platforms, and product components. This presents a unique opportunity to impact technical decisions across the company and shape the tools that developers use daily.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in frontend development or technical UX design, strong prototyping skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. They should be comfortable with AI/ML concepts and capable of translating complex technical requirements into elegant user experiences.

This role offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $129,000-$185,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
