Staff Backend Engineer - Grafana Databases Pyroscope

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join their Grafana Databases Pyroscope team in a remote position based in Germany. This role is central to the development of Pyroscope, an open-source continuous profiling database that provides scalable storage and querying capabilities for application resource utilization analysis.

The position involves working on implementing distributed systems to manage profile ingestion and queries, collaborating with a remote-first engineering team. The successful candidate will lead projects from conception to implementation, design and maintain critical systems, and participate in on-call rotations. They will also have the opportunity to influence the product roadmap and mentor team members.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience with programming languages (preferably Go, but experience with Python, C, C++, or Rust is valuable), distributed systems, and cloud software development. They should be able to deliver projects independently, from gathering requirements to shipping the final product. Experience with Kubernetes and being on-call for operations/SRE tasks is required.

Grafana Labs offers a competitive compensation package, with base salary ranging from €106,514 to €127,817 for this role in Germany, plus equity and bonus opportunities.
