As a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend, you'll join a team that processes over 15 billion API hits and 2.5 billion message events daily. The platform manages 470+ terabytes of data across five databases and 250+ microservices.
The role focuses on the Conversations team, which handles millions of customer interactions across SMS, email, and WhatsApp. You'll be pushing Vue.js to its limits, architecting frontend systems that handle billions of UI events monthly. Responsibilities For Staff Software Engineer - Frontend
- Architect and evolve the Vue.js platform for scale, performance, and modularity
- Own rendering logic, state management, and shared UI systems
- Eliminate jank, reduce complexity, and drive pixel-perfect UX
- Define frontend architecture patterns and enforce design/code quality
- Collaborate across backend, platform, design, and product
- Mentor the team; hire and grow top-tier frontend talent
- Build design systems, patterns, infrastructure, and documentation
- Develop platforms and frameworks that serve as the foundation for others
Requirements For Staff Software Engineer - Frontend
- 7+ years of frontend experience; Preferably 2+ years scaling Vue.js systems
- Deep knowledge of Vue's/React's internals—reactivity, lifecycle, Composition API, Pinia/Vuex
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale SPAs with complex state/data flows
- Strong grasp of performance: bundle strategy, lazy loading, virtual DOM tuning
- Fluent in modern tooling: Vite, Webpack, Linting, etc.
- Expert in profiling and using Chrome Dev tools to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks
- Comfortable with frontend testing at all levels (unit, integration, E2E)
- Care deeply about accessibility, semantics, and long-term code health
- Communicate with clarity and lead by technical example
