Job Description

Join Hitachi Energy's DevOps team in Krakow, working alongside experienced colleagues from Poland and Switzerland. As a DevOps/Configuration Management Software Engineer, you'll be part of a global group providing comprehensive solutions for Hitachi Energy Mission Critical Communication systems. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies including containers, virtualization, and continuous integration.

You'll be responsible for building and deploying software applications, implementing process improvements, and maintaining laboratory infrastructure. The tech stack includes Ansible, ESX, Docker, Podman, Python, Linux, Bash, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, RPM, Java, C++, C#, React, and TypeScript.

This position offers an opportunity to work on mission-critical systems while collaborating with a globally distributed team. You'll be involved in various aspects of DevOps, from configuration management to infrastructure automation, making a significant impact on project infrastructure and teamwork.

Responsibilities For DevOps/Configuration Management Software Engineer

  • Build, package and deploy software product applications on internal test systems
  • Implement process and tools improvements related to configuration management
  • Automate repetitive tasks by scripting and development of software tools
  • Maintain and develop laboratory network and infrastructure
  • Perform entry-level debugging of source code
  • Share experience and skills with team members

Requirements For DevOps/Configuration Management Software Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience with DevOps/SW configuration management or SW Release Engineering
  • Proficiency in server administration and automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Proficiency in Linux systems administration
  • Experience with Git version control system
  • Knowledge of Jenkins, Azure DevOps
  • Experience with supporting SW development tools
  • Excellent communication in English
  • Knowledge of routing/switching and network devices configuration
