Senior Software Engineer, Backend - HTS Fintech Ancillaries

Hopper Fintech Ancillaries team is responsible for integrating proprietary fintech offerings with some of the largest travel companies globally. As a Senior Backend Developer, you'll join the growing fintech team to deliver significant impact on critical roadmaps. You'll design, implement, deploy, and operate complex backend systems powering integrations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Iterating on features using Scala and technologies like GCP, OpenAPI, BigQuery, Pub/Sub
• Deciding how to build core systems within a microservices architecture
• Shipping code quickly and iterating in an agile manner
• Collaborating with diverse teams and providing/receiving feedback
• Executing on big opportunities to help Hopper rise in the travel industry

Ideal candidates have:

• Knowledge of leading industry techniques and technologies
• Strong understanding of distributed systems
• Experience in cross-functional teams
• Focus on quality and testable code
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and handle uncertainty
• Prior cloud experience
• Scala experience (preferred but not required)
• Travel or eCommerce experience (preferred)
