Senior Engineering Manager - Applied Machine Learning

Hudl is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for their Applied Machine Learning (AML) team. This role combines technical expertise, management skills, product focus, and business understanding to deliver AI/ML solutions at scale.

The AML team's vision is to extract the right data and insights from video at the right time, putting them directly into the hands of coaches, athletes, and fans. Hudl serves over 230,000 sports teams across 40+ sports, from high schools to 11,000+ professional teams.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will:

• Develop and manage a research agenda balancing short-term deliverables with long-term investments
• Set direction by defining long-term vision and roadmaps
• Act as a technical supervisor, guiding development efforts
• Hire and develop top talent, providing technical and career development guidance
• Drive innovation and advance the team's engineering craftsmanship

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and leading a team of Applied Scientists and Engineers
• Delivering AI/ML solutions with measurable business impact
• Fostering collaboration across teams and business units
• Translating customer needs into complex projects and executing them

Required skills:

• Proven track record of shipping impactful products
• Experience leading teams of Applied Scientists and ML Engineers
• Expertise in building, maintaining, and monitoring complex AI/ML models and systems in production
• Knowledge in areas such as machine vision, multi-view geometry, GPU accelerators, inference on edge devices, foundational models, real-time systems, and event detection
• Excellent communication skills
