Job Description

Infleqtion, a pioneering global quantum technology company, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer with FPGA and DSP expertise for their Kidlington, Oxford office. This role combines hardware and software engineering in the cutting-edge field of quantum technology, focusing on quantum RF sensors, inertial navigation systems, and atomic clocks. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement allowing up to 2 days of remote work weekly.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing atom-based quantum technologies, implementing complex DSP algorithms, and creating high-speed interfaces for FPGA systems. They will work with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement electronic solutions for various subsystems, including laser drivers, optical frequency combs, and RF signal chains.

This role requires extensive experience in engineering or computer science, with strong proficiency in FPGA programming using VHDL/Verilog and implementing DSP algorithms. The position demands both technical expertise and collaborative skills, as the engineer will work closely with software, electronics, and systems engineering teams.

Responsibilities For FPGA & DSP Engineer (Quantum RF)

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on atom-based quantum technologies development
  • Engineer electronic solutions for controlling subsystems
  • Implement real-time and pipelined DSP algorithms on high-speed signals within FPGA
  • Write automated test benches to verify designs
  • Debug complex embedded systems
  • Create high speed interfaces from FPGA to hardware peripherals
  • Execute high-speed feedback control systems
  • Collaborate with software, electronics and systems engineers
  • Employ precision test and measurement equipment
  • Conduct critical design reviews
  • Create, document, and maintain designs and architectural blueprints
  • Manage technical priorities and deliver on project objectives

Requirements For FPGA & DSP Engineer (Quantum RF)

Python
  • Significant experience in engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Proficiency in implementing DSP algorithms using VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog
  • Ability to analyse solutions and make prototype design trade-offs
  • Strong problem-solving skills in team-based environment
  • In-depth knowledge of digital and RF hardware
  • Competence in controlling FPGA IP blocks programmatically
  • Proficiency in interfacing with peripheral hardware devices
  • Experience in hardware product development
  • Hands-on experience with electrical test and validation
