Job Description

Intuit is seeking a Tax Analysis Programmer 2 to join their team as a subject matter expert in tax law and software development. This role combines tax expertise with technical implementation, focusing on developing and maintaining tax preparation software for Tax Preparers across North America.

The position involves interpreting complex tax laws into logical requirements, developing business rules, and validating tax scenarios across various products. You'll work at the intersection of tax compliance and software development, using specialized tools and frameworks to ensure accurate implementation of tax regulations.

As a Tax Analysis Programmer, you'll be responsible for analyzing tax law changes, writing clear specifications for software engineers, and optionally coding tax law changes directly into the software. The role requires strong analytical skills, tax knowledge, and the ability to translate complex tax concepts into practical software solutions.

You'll interact with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, internal teams, and customers, while maintaining high standards for quality and compliance. Responsibilities For Tax Analysis Programmer 2

  • Analysis of tax law changes, including moderate to highly complex tax issues for development purposes
  • Clearly articulates requirements regarding changes to forms, calculations and diagnostic messaging within specifications written for software engineers
  • Triaging of tax software defects and quality checks
  • Program and quality assurance of tax law changes into Tax preparation software
  • Interact with government agencies in the course of development process
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal groups that require tax expertise
  • Trains and mentors more junior-level Tax Analysts

Requirements For Tax Analysis Programmer 2

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field
  • 3-7 years income tax preparation or analysis experience
  • Certification in tax-related field highly desirable – Enrolled Agent and/or CPA is preferred
  • Aptitude/ability to learn Tax related programming skills
  • Prior programming skills/experience in any language is a plus
  • Strong understanding of federal and state taxation
  • Superior computer skills, including proficiency in moderate to complex operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
