Job Description

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their Consumer & Community Banking division on the Data Technology team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take your software engineering career to the next level while working on market-leading technology products.

As a Software Engineer III, you'll serve as a seasoned member of an agile team, responsible for designing and delivering trusted technology solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You'll work on critical technology implementations across multiple technical areas within various business functions, supporting the firm's business objectives.

The role involves developing secure high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging code written by others, and identifying opportunities to improve operational stability. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Java, Python, Apache Kafka, Cassandra, and Kubernetes, while applying your expertise in distributed systems and microservices architecture.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $133,000 to $185,000, along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare coverage, retirement savings, education budget, and mental health support. You'll be based in either Plano, TX or Jersey City, NJ, working within Chase's Consumer & Community Banking division, which leads the U.S. in credit card sales and deposit growth.

  • Expert level experience with data engineering technologies and tools such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Cassandra and ETL processes
  • Experience with distributed systems, microservices, Kubernetes, and containers
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline
